This is a must see. In today’s cinematic meta it’s the effects that tend to take center stage. What was so refreshing about Mad Max Fury Road was it’s widespread use of practical effects and real mayhem. The Black+Chrome edition of the film takes this a step further. This black and white edit, the preferred version of director George Miller, allows filmmakers to use contrast edits to highlight effects for an even more dramatic telling of the Fury Road story. In an interview with Slashfilm discussing the post processing of the film with George Miller said
“There’s only two ways to go. Make [post-apocalyptic movies] black and white — the best version of this movie is black and white, but people reserve that for art movies now. The other version is to really go all-out on the color. The usual teal and orange thing? That’s all the colors we had to work with. The desert’s orange and the sky is teal, and we either could de-saturate it, or crank it up, to differentiate the movie.”
This version cranks the move up to a 12 and is a must have for any Blu-Ray collection.
